Plasma Cutting tipsOPERATION
Proper travel speed
• Maintaining proper travel speed
is key to successful cuts.
• Watch arc beneath plate (sparks
lagging 15 –30° behind cut).
• Lag lines on finished cut edge
should also be about 15 –30°.
Drag cutting
• Torch front-end shielding
virtually eliminates damage
from touching the torch to
the work piece.
Cutting expanded metal
• Pilot arc controller eliminates annoying retriggering when
cutting expanded materials.
Piercing
• Roll the arc into the plate to minimize damage to the
consumables during piercing operations.
